R&W offers group or private lessons with your horse. New students are always welcome. Lessons for beginners through advanced riders and drivers from pleasure to competition preparation are available.
Beginner lessons cover start, stop and turn basics. Lessons cover basic horsemanship skills which include equine care and nutrition as well as equipment fitting and safety. Cart, carriage and harness fitting are reviewed and recommendations are made.
All aspects of combined driving are taught including driven dressage, marathon obstacles and cones. Pleasure driving and showing are also covered preparing the student to compete based on ADS rules.
Lessons in ridden dressage, jumping, competitive trail and endurance riding are all areas that we have extensive experience in and can help you to improve your competitive skills.
We can help you prepare for the upcoming show season. Students learn skills needed to ride or drive in competition or for pleasure with confidence.
Both ring or road work can be the focus of a lesson. R & W has necessary equipment to make each lesson relevant to your training and improve upon the last.
Robin Groves, two time US National Singles Champion, is available for clinics around the country.
Group or private lessons with evening discussions can be arranged. Robin is available for clinics year round for one or several days duration. Lessons can include riders and drivers in a group, private or semi-private format.
Material covered may include long lining and longing with discussions on nutrition, conditioning and fitness. Robin will help you determine a training program for you and your horse or pony.
R & W accepts horses for training, all ages, for all equine activities. Early training "Charm School" is offered for young horses to develop a good basic foundation including handling and barn manners. Young horses are taught to lead, longe and long line to start and when ready backed and/or hitched.
Training is available for more advanced competitive horses with an emphasis on building skills according to previous training and experience. Horses/ponies are evaluated and put into a program that is appropriate for each equines level of training.
R & W prepares horses to ride or drive for single or pairs. Training may include dressage, jumping, cde preparation (driven dressage, cones and obstacles), road work, group work, conditioning, competitive trail and endurance.
Robin and Wilson can help you prepare for the show season and are familiar with riding and driving organizations rules and guidelines.
Conditioning horses and ponies for all equine activities is our specialty. We bring years of competitive experience and can help you determine your goals in regard to your horse and then develop a conditioning program that will help you ride or drive successfully.
